No Ordinary Sundays...

I’m excited about Sunday!– there's an air of anticipation, like something truly extraordinary is about to unfold.

I can't wait to witness the unfolding of Jesus' plans for our Church.

This morning I was reading about Esther from the Bible during my time with Jesus.

Picture this: King Xerxes, an expansive empire, and a plot to annihilate the Jewish people.

Esther, initially an unlikely candidate for a queen, found herself in a position where her decisions could alter the course of history.

The gravity of her situation makes her resolve all the more inspiring. In the face of uncertainty, Esther took a daring stance.

Esther could have resigned to the COMFORT of the palace…

She could have settled for “routine” and the ordinary…After all who would have blamed her?

But Esther took a deferent route, a better, life altering, world changing bold leap of faith.

'If I perish, I perish' (Esther 4:16)

Esther risked everything, to become part of a divine rescue mission that spared an entire nation from destruction.

As I reflect on this story I feel Jesus calling us to break away from the ordinary and be open to the extraordinary moves of God, just as Esther did in her pivotal moment in history.

Much like Esther faced a pivotal moment. I really believed we too stand at a crossroads every Sunday.

Instead of settling for the status quo, let's take BIG steps of faith.

Esther refused to settle for the ordinary.

We must refuse to let ordinary to be a part of our walk with God. We can not show up expecting “Ordinary Sundays” and see extraordinary moves of God.

However, when we refuse to settle on Sundays or any day..., and we embrace the plans God has for our Church and our lives we GET to see God do things that only He can do!

So I want to share with you three actionable things we can draw from Esther's story to ensure we don't settle for the ordinary this Sunday or any Sunday:

#1–Invite Others to Join Us: Esther's story took a dramatic turn because someone saw potential in her. Mordecai played a pivotal role by encouraging her to embrace her destiny.

Likewise, your invitation could be the encouragement someone needs.

A simple invitation can be the spark that changes someone's spiritual journey. Pray and Reach out to friends, family, or even acquaintances; extend a warm invitation to join you at church this Sunday.

Who do you know that may be feeling isolated or adrift? Your invite could be the sense of belonging they need. A warm welcome, a shared experience, or a moment of connection might be the catalyst for a transformation in their life.

It's not just an invitation; it's an opportunity to impact lives, that can endure beyond a single Sunday.

#2–Show up ready to worship: When we show up ready to worship, it's about more than just attending a service; it's about cultivating an atmosphere where Jesus can change our hearts.

It’s a refusal to settle for the ordinary. Can you imagine the impact of what would happen if Dream City Church collectively decided to approach worship with a mindset of expectancy and wholehearted engagement?

Every note of music, every spoken word, and every prayer is an act of faith that Jesus has more.

By refusing to settle, we set the tone for an encounter with the The presence of Jesus.

It's not about going through the motions but about participating in a transformative experience that goes beyond the ordinary Sundays!

#3–Show up ready to Serve Someone else: Esther's actions were driven by a desire to save her people.

This Sunday, let's focus on actions that contribute to the greater good of others in The Room, whether through acts of kindness, generosity in giving, or having an intentional a spirit of unity.

By showing up ready to serve, we create an environment where everyone is uplifted, and the impact extends beyond the walls of the room.

I hope you are excited about Dream City Church! I hope your life and family has been drawn closer to Jesus! I can't wait to gather with you all this Sunday!
