There are some battles we are called NOT to fight.

You won't believe the chaos that went down at my place recently. So, ants decided to declare war on my home, right? And since I am the MAN of my home I launched an all out WAR against the tiny invaders.

For days, I went on an ant-fighting spree. I'm talking DIY solutions, endless research on ant-beating strategies, and multiple trips to the store to try every remedy under the sun.

It became a full-time gig, and I felt like I was losing my mind!

Then…I discovered that we actually have a pest control contract.

Yes, I could have just made a simple phone call to the exterminators, and they would handle the ant situation like pros.

Imagine my facepalm moment!

It hit me hard – the battle against the ants wasn't mine to fight.

I wasted days stressing over something that wasn't in my lane.

It got me thinking about life battles, you know?

Sometimes, we go all-in on stuff that isn't really our fight.

Just like I should have left the ant warfare to the bug exterminators, there are battles in life better suited for God's guidance and expertise.

It's about knowing when to stay out of “it”, so we can focus on battles aligned with our purpose.

Not every invasion or life struggle needs my personal DIY touch. 🐜📞

With that in mind…Here are 12 Battles God has never called us to fight!

#1— The Comparison Game:

(2 Corinthians 10:12) "But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding." God never intended us to battle insecurity through comparisons. Embrace your journey. The only time you should look at someone else's plate is to make sure they have enough.

#2 – Grudges and Unforgiveness:

(Matthew 6:14-15) "For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." God never asked us to bear the burdens of grudges or unforgivness.

#3 – Anxiety About Tomorrow:

(Matthew 6:34) "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." God never intended us to fight the WAR of worry about the future.

#4– People Pleasing:

(Galatians 1:10) "For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ." God never called us to fight for human approval. You can’t make everyone happy. It’s not possible. Even Jesus couldn’t do this, so what makes us think we can?

#5 – The Perfection Battle:

(Matthew 5:48) "You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." God never intended perfectionism to be our battle; rather, it's about aligning our hearts with His. The key to understanding this passage lies in grasping the underlying message. Jesus isn't setting an unattainable standard of flawlessness; instead, He's urging us to align our hearts with the character and nature of Father God. The battle against perfectionism arises when we misinterpret this verse, thinking we must achieve flawless performance in our human endeavors. God never intended for us to be paralyzed by the fear of falling short. Instead, the focus is on cultivating a heart that seeks to imitate God's love, compassion, and righteousness. This encourages a shift from a performance-based mindset to a heart-centered pursuit of God's character in our daily lives.

#6 – Despair Over Past Mistakes:

(1 John 1:9) "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." God never asked us to fight the ongoing battle of despair over past mistakes. Either you believe the blood of Jesus was enough to cover all of your sin, or it was’nt. IT WAS!

#7 — The Battle Against Flesh and Blood:

(Ephesians 6:12) "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places." God never intended us to engage in futile battles against each other; our real struggle is against the demonic and wicked spiritual forces.

#8 –The Battle Against God's Anointed:

Acts 5:38-39, Gamaliel stands up among the Jews who were about to martyr the apostles of Jesus and advises, "leave these men alone, for if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God." This battle warns against opposing or hindering those anointed by God for a specific purpose. God never intended us to fight against His chosen vessels. It's a call to discern God's anointed, support His appointed leaders, and avoid the futile battle of resisting God's divine plan. Rather than opposing, recognize and align with God's chosen instruments for the fulfillment of His purposes.

#9 — The battle for Control:

Often, we find ourselves wrestling with the need to control every aspect of our lives, thinking that maintaining a tight grip ensures our well-being. Control is an illusion. Proverbs 3:5-6 advises us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." The battle of being a control freak isn't our fight; it's about relinquishing control to God, trusting His guidance, and allowing Him to navigate our paths. Instead of anxiously trying to manage every detail, we are called to surrender control and let God lead us with His wisdom and grace.

#10 – Doubting: (Jeremiah 29:11) "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." God never intended us to battle doubts about His plan for our lives.

#11 –The Lord's Battle:

2 Chronicles 20:15, "Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's," this battle emphasizes that we need not carry the weight of every challenge. God never intended us to face overwhelming circumstances alone. In moments of adversity, we are urged to release our fears, stand firm, and recognize that the battle ultimately belongs to the Lord. Instead of being driven by anxiety, we are called to trust that God is in control, fighting on our behalf, and leading us to triumph in His way and timing. We can’t fight a battle where the victory belongs to HIM! Get out of the way!

#12 – Neglecting Self-Care:

(1 Corinthians 6:19-20) "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body." God never asked us to neglect our well-being; our bodies are His temples. In other word’s take care of yourself! You can’t pour out of a place that you’ve not let God pour in….Take a nap!
