I love Mother's Day at Dream City Church!

Howdy everyone! Pastor Z here! Church this Sunday at Dream City was AWESOME!

This Sunday we had 11 people choose JESUS to be their Lord and savior!

THAT IS A BIG DEAL! It's one of the reasons I love Dream City!

Each and every week, People...

Who are confused...

Who are messed up...

Who have lost hope...are showing up, and they are finding NEW DIRECTION, HEALING and HOPE!

I Love that our church is a place where broken people can show up, just as they are, and belong!

Today was Mother's Day at Dream City! I just wanted to say one more time to all of our Dream City Mother's...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Our Sermon today was about being Overwhelmed...We looked at three Mothers from the Bible who were OVERWHELMED! I had a BLAST PREACHING this message!

Three ways we can OVERCOME being OVERWHELMED is...

#1. You Gotta Trust God.

#2. You Gotta Realize You Can't Do Life Alone.

#3.You Gotta Listen to What God is Saying.

We have to understand that we can trust God! He is faithful and He can pull us through whatever it is you and I face!

Trusting God through trial is NEVER easy--However every trial is an opportunity to learn to trust Him!

We talked about how we are not created to live life alone...

Every time we isolate and push away from community leads to doubt!

Being alone will WRECK your faith in Jesus! We need community!

Listening to what Jesus is saying is not always and easy thing to do...Especially when we are feeling overwhelmed!

When Jesus' Mother told the servants to "Do Whatever he tells you" THEY DID WHAT HE SAID!(What a REVELATION!!!!!)

All of us have face impossible situations! We all have water, when what we needed was wine...see John 2:1-7

These jars are a reminder of what it is that overwhelms us...

...and that day these Jar were so much more than a reminder that the Party had lost it's flavor...

The water was a reminder of what the wine the wedding had lacked.

They were Overwhelmed….

To Jesus I believe these jars served as a reminder to what the world had lost.

Jesus saw those Jars standing there in defiance, like roman soldiers, guarding a tomb.

Those jars filled to the BRIM with WATER, not wine….

But without the WATER...There would have been no WINE....Here's the point.

What overwhelmed you yesterday, God wants to use to make you an OVERCOMER today!

You don't get corn without rain!

These Jars served as reminders...yet, not every reminder needs a response…

But when you do have to respond…BE RESILIENT.

Stop allowing the devil to reframe, What Jesus has told you to rewrite….

”Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so,“

John 2:8 NIV

We can learn, or DRAW OUT what the Lord is teaching us in every situation!

Recognize relevant similarities between situations and avoid proposing actions that are likely to repeat failure.

I think one of the most amazing things about our relationship with God is that if you love Him and you trust Him (I didn’t say if you behave perfectly, I didn’t say if you never make mistakes, I didn’t say if you go to church every Sunday and never miss one, if you read your bible through three times a year...)

I said, if you trust God and you love Him, I don’t care what has happened or what does happen, God will take it and make it somehow or another work out for your good.

God works out every situation for our Good IF we will let Him!

I had an AWESOME SUNDAY!

Today we took Cara out for a Mother's Day Lunch, but the restaurant was PACKED...So we went to a Chinese place...I'm doing Keto. Do you know how hard it is to each Chinese food and find something on the menu that is KETO?!?!?

I ate a duck.

Literally, a whole duck...Quack Quack!

Today I  talked about how apparently some in town... have said that I am a "Feel Good" preacher...

I suppose in contrast to a preacher who makes people feel AWFUL...

In the past, I've heard preachers exclaim, "Give 'em hell on Sunday!"

I understand the intention behind it... but  can we admit it's SAD that some people actually take pleasure in the existence of hell and the fact that people end up there.

The truth is, people already experience enough "hell" throughout the week...

Their marriages are in turmoil, job security is uncertain, children are overwhelmed, and their dating lives are falling apart... the list goes on...

By the way...JUST MAYBE...that's one of the reasons why people are abandoning churches like never before!

So, instead of "giving 'em hell"  on Sundays, I propose that we GIVE THEM HOPE!

The life of Jesus offers us HOPE that God genuinely desires a relationship with us.

The cross gives us HOPE that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ.

The empty tomb gives us HOPE that He can overcome any challenge we face.

People are in need of HOPE!

At Dream City, we possess HOPE!

Now, don't misunderstand me... I'm not suggesting that we should take it easy and not address sin!

The issue lies in many in "Church World" want to condemn sin without directing people to the Savior who paid for that sin and in whom there is COMPLETE forgiveness.

Our message should be that of a church shining brighter than EVER before!

We must lead them to Christ, the One who shatters condemnation!

At DREAM CITY we are determined to Give ‘em hope every Sunday!

MAN I LOVE MY CHURCH! MAN I LOVE YOU!

I can not wait till NEXT SUNDAY!

I'm going to go listen to "Pancake Robot" (a song my kid's listen to) with my kids!

Have a great week Dream City Church!
