Anyone can make a point…

If we want to make a point—We don’t need to pursue a relationship , know, or love someone.

We can simply sit back, create a caricature of them, and throw our stones.

If we want to make a difference—We have to pursue them, get to know them, understand them, love them, and serve them.

Jesus came to make a difference, while the religious crowd is just making their point.

The Gospel of Jesus changes the world one difference at a time.

The religious crowd can’t put down their stones because they are still trying to prove their point. We are good—They are bad.

I know firsthand what it feels like to be turned into a caricature that someone else created so they could throw their rocks…

It hurt, caused me pain, and my initial reaction was to prove they were wrong about me, to prove MY POINT…but…

I don't want to make a point.

I want to make a difference.

John 8:7: "Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone."

As we reflect in this moment, let's challenge ourselves to examine our own hearts and actions.

Are we quick to judge and condemn others without truly understanding them?

Do we prioritize making a point about someone, over making a difference for someone?

Let's commit to laying down our stones of judgment and embrace compassion, empathy, and understanding.

Let's actively seek to build bridges instead of walls, to love instead of condemn, and to make a difference in the lives of others.

Remember, it's not enough to simply refrain from throwing stones; we must actively engage in acts of kindness, forgiveness, and service.

Let's follow the example of Jesus, who came not to condemn the world, but to save it (John 3:17).

Together, let's strive to be agents of change and instruments of love in a world that desperately needs both.
