Foundation #3

Have you ever wondered if there was a time in the life of the Apostle Paul…

(The guy who wrote most of the New Testament books)

…when he was more concerned with what he was DOING, rather than WHO he was becoming? (Philippians 3:1-7)

But when PAUL met JESUS…Everything Changed.

Paul discovered THE ONE THING that we all must understand…God is less interested in mananging what we are doing…and more concerned with Who we are becoming.

We can manage our behavior and NEVER experience growth…

But when we allow Jesus to work on WHO we are, what we do will began to change too!

Growing People Change!

Churches, organizations and businesses, and people that REFUSE to CHANGE will not grow(Ask BLOCKBUSTER if this is true or not! )

People and organizations who refuse to change will eventually start to destroy anything and anyone who threatens the status quo, or makes things uncomfortable…

This is who the Israelites had become when Jesus walked the earth…

The Pharisees.

They believed that in order to to grow closer to God, they had to change thier behavior FIRST, and then, after they followed all the rules, they could become more like God…

But that NEVER works! Behavior modification can not change a heart!

Jesus changed the rules. He said we had to be BORN AGAIN, CHANGE who we are and what we are altogether.

Works based salvation, Traditions, and “how we’ve always done it”, has NEVER saved anyone.

Only the presence of Jesus, Changes people.

That’s why at Dream City Church, we are not obsessed with WHAT you have done or what you are doing…We are all about getting into the precense of Jesus. He changes us!

I’m not saying that what we do, doesn’t matter! OF course it does! BUT…

…when you discover the WHO you are, the WAHT you do will change too!

If we are going to grow…We have to be willing to CHANGE.

Change is not always easy, but it is necessary for personal and growth.

It requires us to step out of our comfort zones and embrace new ways of thinking and being.

When we allow ourselves to be transformed by Jesus, we open ourselves up to a world of possibilities and opportunities.

We become more compassionate, loving, and patient individuals.

Our relationships become deeper and more meaningful.

We begin to see the world through a different lens, with a greater understanding and appreciation for the beauty and diversity around us.

Change is a process that takes time and effort, but the rewards are immeasurable.

So let us be open to the work of Jesus in our lives and embrace the change that he brings.

Growing People Change.
